Why Smelly Men? How jiu-jitsu inspired a way for men to smell better, naturally.

I'm James, the founder of Smelly Men. The idea hit me while training jiu jitsu—grappling means really close contact, and if you stink, everyone knows...!

Yet, my friends and I were stuck with the same old personal care options like shower gel and body spray. You know the stuff I mean. Whether we're training, working, or socialising, smelling good is a must. It dawned on me that men’s personal care here in the UK hadn’t evolved—same scents, dodgy chemicals (engine degreaser anyone?), and plastic packaging.

As a dad of three boys, I saw even fewer options for them. Many parents will try to buy skin-friendly, natural options for their babies and toddlers. But once boys can wash themselves the choices aren't great - more dodgy chemicals and lots of plastic.

What if we could smell great with all-natural British-made products and ditch single-use packaging? Get back to natural soaps and deal with body odour effectively?

What if we could do something for men and boys health more broadly - both physical and mental - by helping them feel better through personal care?

So that's why we're here, and this is what we're for: to help men and boys smell and feel better, naturally.
