Does it actually work?

Yes. We've tested it extensively (including jiu jitsu training - if it works there, it works anywhere).

Natural deodorant neutralises odour-causing bacteria without aluminium. Your armpits won't smell, but they will sweat (which is healthy and normal).

Give your body 1-2 weeks to adjust if you're switching from conventional deodorant. After that, it just works.

Why Smelly Women?

Started because I (Chara) spent a year using my husband's natural products. Not because I wanted to smell like "wild woods" - because I couldn't find natural products I actually loved for myself.

Everything was either £18+ (absolutely not), didn't work (checking myself by noon), or smelled too earthy or medicinal (no thanks).

So we made Smelly Women: natural products that work, smell good, and cost what they should.

First time switching to natural deodorant?

Your body needs 1-2 weeks to adjust. You might sweat more initially (that's your body detoxing from aluminium). Stick with it. After the adjustment period, it just works.

Common Questions

Does it stain clothes?

No. Unlike some natural deodorants, our formula doesn't leave marks on clothing.

Does it work for sensitive skin?

Yes, but do a patch test first. If you have very sensitive skin, you may want to test any new deodorant carefully.

How long does one tube last?

2-3 months with daily use. We're not trying to sell you new deodorant every month.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Email us. We'll make it right. Natural deodorants work for 95% of people, but body chemistry varies.

Can I use it every day?

Yes. It's designed for daily use.

Does it stop sweat?

No. It neutralises odour. Sweating is healthy and natural. If you need an antiperspirant (which blocks sweat), this isn't it.

How does the scent compare to the soap?

They're designed to layer - complementary but not identical. The soap (ylang ylang & lavender) is your base layer, the deo (neroli & geranium) is lighter so they work together without clashing.

Does the scent last all day?

The essential oils fade gradually (natural oils don't persist like synthetic fragrance). But the odour-neutralising effect lasts all day. You may not smell entirely floral at 5pm, but you also won't smell bad.
