Every boy goes through this. Some earlier, some later, some stronger than others. The fix is straightforward: wash properly, dry properly, then use deodorant. Teen Spirit is built for exactly that. Natural ingredients, no aluminium, made for skin that's only just starting to need it. Built for a boy, scents are sharp and clean (lime, spearmint, tea tree), not floral - something he'll appreciate.

Soap deals with what's already on his skin. Deodorant stops the new odour building through the day. One without the other is half a routine — which is why Teen Spirit comes as a kit, not a single product.

  • Proper soap. Like it used to be.

Cold pressed, hand-made and only pure essential oils to properly cleanse his skin. No synthetic detergents and artificial parfum like you get in shower gel.

Why does he suddenly smell so much?

Puberty triggers a new type of sweat gland, the apocrine gland. Unlike the sweat he produced as a younger child, apocrine sweat is rich in proteins and fats that skin bacteria love to consume.

The by-product of that process is body odour. It's not dirt. It's not poor hygiene. It's just biology.

Conventional sprays mask the smell. They don't deal with the bacteria producing it.

Natural deodorant does. Gently, effectively, and without aluminium or synthetic chemistry. Which is why parents are often genuinely surprised by how well it works.

Questions parents actually ask:

Is this actually made for boys, or just relabelled from somewhere else?

Made for boys, from the ground up. Not a women's or unisex range with
different packaging stuck on. Scents are lime, spearmint, tea tree, peppermint
and orange — sharp, not sweet. The tube is built to live in a kit bag, not on a
bathroom shelf.

Isn't bar soap supposed to be drying?

Cheap soap can be - and shower gel has built an entire industry on that reputation. Commercial soap makers strip the glycerin out to sell separately, which is what leaves a bargain bar feeling tight and chalky. Shower gel usually isn't soap at all - mostly water - and the same detergent base as washing-up liquid, with foam and fragrance doing the rest. Cold-pressed soap keeps its glycerin in and is made slowly, the way soap was made before either shortcut existed.

Is it really plastic-free, aluminium-free and made in the UK?

Yes, all three. Handmade in Britain. No aluminium, no parabens, no
phthalates, no plastic packaging. Full ingredients on each product page.

How is this different from the bigger natural brands?

Most of those are built for adults and sold as a single stick. Teen Spirit is built around puberty specifically - the sweat is chemically different at this age - and comes as a proper starter kit, soap and deodorant together, so there's nothing else to work out.

Will he actually use it, or will it end up at the back of the cabinet?

That's the real test, and it's the one the reviews below answer better than we can — several are from boys who switched off Lynx and stuck with it. The scent's sharp, not sweet, and it doesn't look or smell like anything designed for a spa.

Does it stop him sweating, or just the smell?

Just the smell. This is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant — it deals with
the bacteria that cause the odour rather than blocking sweat itself. If he
needs something to stop wetness outright for sport, that's a different
product, and we'd rather say so than oversell this one.

What age should he start?

Most parents start around 9 to 12, when the smell first shows up, and it
carries on working right through the teenage years. If he's noticing a
change, he's ready.
